"Last night in Oslo, after a day off work, Springsteen took a stroll in the Vigeland Park. (sculptures of naked people, a few square miles big) It's a park where young and old, babies and pensionists go to relax. During the long, light, hot summer nights, it's the arena for young people - drinking beer, having a BBQ, falling in land out of love.
15 or so teenagers are relaxing, when a guy appoaches them and asks if he can sit down. Sure! It was Bruce. One of the kids offer him a sip of beer, and he accepts. Another kid gets him a fresh bottle out of a mini fridge. So he just sits there, talking with the kids, telling stories, drinks beer and hears their opinion about the two shows in Oslo. One guy tells him about his dad, a huge fan, who went to the first show Springsteen did in Norway, 27 years ago. And that he went to one of the shows this week in Oslo, with his dad. Springsteen's very touched by this and starts talking about the "Circle of Life" (also the name of one of the sculptures in the park, which he happens to know very well).
One of the local news papers is tipped off about Springsteen hanging out with the young fans, race to the park, and get an interview - and photos, where he speaks about his little summer night party with the local kids.
What a fantastic, sympathetic man he is! How can one not love Bruce? I don't know if he does this a lot, but he's charmed everyone during his visit in Norway - young and old. smileys with beer
