So, I've booked this tour for the amazing, humble, gentleman, rock star Garry Tallent from The E Street Band. The UK shows are on sale now, and the Irish shows GO ON SALE AT 9AM EXACTLY this Thursday, Feb. 2nd.
A personal note.....I started out this guy with a guitar things playing Springsteen tunes in the subway in New York.....which then led me to LA and a record deal with A&M. I met Garry around that time as he was delving into production and we had a meal at an Indian Restaurant.....I woke up at 4am sick as a dog and stayed away from curry for the next 10 years. I love it now. Although we didn't end up working together......we remained friends, and recently, he has been playing bass on the record i'm recording of my dad's songs. He is a huge Buddy Holly fan, and is a study of the early days of Buddy's career when Dad and Buddy were "Buddy and Bob"............so, there is a lot of synergy there. We started speaking about him coming on tour in the UK, and we decided to go for it.
So, here we are. This is Garry's first outing as a solo artist, and in keeping with Springsteen's E Street Band ethos has surrounded himself with old friends and musical co-horts like Fats Kaplan and Kristi Rose. I'll open the tour, and then Garry and his longtime friends will groove away.
WE HAVE NOT FILLED SATURDAY, JUNE 3RD in IRELAND AND FRIDAY, JUNE 9TH in the UK and would be interested in your ideas about a venue, or groovy village hall? And, we are still talking about a European leg in the fall.......subject to The Boss's approval of time away from E Street Band duties........so, please comment below with your ideas!? So, tickets are on sale...........buy early and come out and support Garry on this new endeavour!!!!
