61-year-old from New Jersey comes back to Koengen with Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band 23 and 24 July. In 2009, the gang also did two shows at the same place. Something that is rare for superstars.

- I was in Melbourne a week in the winter of 2009 to finalize the album Cocktail Slippers. So for me it was wonderful to see Bergen in the summer too. The city was as beautiful both seasons, praise Van Zandt on the phone from New York.

On Friday, the new single from Bruce Springsteen, "We Take Care of Our Own", was released. It should be on the new album "Wrecking Ball", which is published 6 March.

- This is actually not officially an E Street Band album, but Bruce solo. Everyone in the band are still on different tracks. I was in and out of the studio. The songs are amazing, and the album is a kind of summary of what Bruce and we have done over the last ten years.

- Now the new tour, which leads you to Bergen?

- We have just started to practice together. Since Clarence Clemons tragic death last year, it becomes very emotional. Before the last tour, Danny Federici died. It was noticeable. Everything changes. But we just have to adapt and move on with the music.

- Do you get a new sax player?

- Definitely. The saxophone has such a central role in many of the old songs. But nothing is decided yet, said Van Zandt.

There has been much talk in the Norwegian media that Bruce Springsteen and the band will attend a minnemarkering for tragedy on Utøya 22 July. The day off between concerts in Oslo and Bergen in the summer.

- We do not yet know whether this becomes a reality. We have, as I said just come back together, so this will be discussed internally.

Although he has another big project on time for the summer, the debut feature film of "The Sopranos" creator David Chase. The title was clear yesterday, "Not Fade Away." It's about a young rock band in New Jersey in the 1960s and is thus a very personal film for both Chase and Van Zandt.

New Jersey 101.5 has learned from The Hollywood Reporter that Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band are planning two area concerts.

Dates have been announced for a European tour starting in May. Now a source tells THR that concerts are being planned for this summer at Citi Field, home of the New York Mets, and at MetLife Stadium, the East Rutherford home of the Giants and Jets.

Mich irritiert ein wenig die Ankündigung der E Street Members im Zusammenhang mit den US-Tourdaten:

The E Street Band's members are: Roy Bittan - piano, synthesizer; Nils Lofgren - guitar, vocals; Patti Scialfa - guitar, vocals; Garry Tallent - bass guitar; Stevie Van Zandt - guitar, vocals; and Max Weinberg - drums; with Soozie Tyrell - violin, guitar, vocals and Charlie Giordano - keyboards.

Wer spielt das Sax?!? Diese Info hätte doch eigentlich hierher gehört oder sollte es tatsächlich so sein, dass die Frage knapp 7 Wochen vor Tourstart noch immer nicht geklärt ist?

Naja derjenige muss ja kein offizielles Mitglied der E Street Band werden. Wenn es zum Beispiel Bob Segers Sax-Mann wird, dann wird er wohl als Gastmusiker mitaufgeführt werden.

Wenn Du die obige Meldung genau liest, stehen da erst die E Street Members und dann kommt ein "with Soozie Tyrell...". In diese Aufzählung hätte der Sax-Player gehört. Ich meine, wenn sie das Line-Up in der PI schon explizit erwähnen, dann sollte es auch vollständig sein. Sie hätten es ja auch erstmal ganz weglassen können.

Ok, dann gibt es 2 realistische Möglichkeiten: a) Die Bläserkapelle besteht aus zu vielen Namen, um jeden einzeln aufzuführen oder b) Es gibt weder eine Bläserkapelle, noch einen Saxophonisten, denn an c) das doch nicht feststeht wer es machen soll glaub ich nicht!

@Greetingsfrom EStreet: Wenn das wirklich alle Alternativen sein sollen, hoffe ich mal, dass Alternative a) eintritt.
