Bruce und die Originalbesetzung der Darkness-Tour haben schweres Equipment
in das Paramount-Theater in Asbury Park geschleppt (na gut, schleppen lassen )
und scheinen für die Darkness-Anniversary-Box zu filmen und zu proben:

Anscheinend war das seit einigen Wochen geplant. Vielleicht wird es ja doch noch was,
mit der lang ersehnten Darkness-DVD.

Na der Link, den Selva von Backstreets gepostet hat, ist doch aktuell...

Keine Ahnung, ob das alles der Wahrheit entspricht,
aber zumindest behauptet der Schreiber, es sei aktuell.

Allerdings verstehe ich nicht, warum er davon ausgeht, dass es
für die Darkness-Box ist. Denn warum sollte für ein 31 Jahre altes
Album neu gefilmt und gespielt werden?
Es sei denn, eine WOAD-Show, bei der Darkness komplett gespielt wurde,
wird nochmal etwas "nachvertont" und dann in der Darkness-Box veröffentlich.

Am Wochenende findet in der Convention Hall eine BMX-Ausstellung statt.

Ah, die Fahrräder der 80er. Dann nehmen sie bestimmt Bicycle race von Queen nochmal neu auf!

Schön, allerdings spielen Bruce und die Band im Paramount Theatre, also im Nebengebäude
der Convention Hall. Ausserdem müsste bis dahin ohnehin das meiste gelaufen sein: wie dem
Bericht zu entnehmen ist, hat sich Bruce seine Original-Gitarre bei der Rock'n'Roll-Hall of fame
ausgeliehen und muss sie heute, am 14.12. zurückgeben . . . was immer das zu bedeuten hat

ich hätte mal ne Frage zu dem Titel dieses Threads:

Wie soll das denn gehen?

"die original 1978er Darkness-E-Streeter"

Zugegeben: In der Eile habe ich den Titel vielleicht nicht ganz so
geschickt ausgewählt: was ich sagen wollte war: die Original-Besetzung
der E-Street-Band, die auf der Darkness-on-the-edge-of-town-Tour
im Jahre 1978 unterwegs war (Bruce, Steve, Clarence, Roy, Garry und Max - natürlich ohne Danny),
hat sich im Paramount Theatre in Asbury Park eingefunden um Filmaufnahmen zu machen.

Hier noch ein paar Spekulationen von Backstreets.com:


Well, lots of theories running around but the only thing for sure is that Bruce didn't get THAT guitar out of the HOF, fly the band members in, bring in TRUCKS of equipment, just to film him strumming the guitar while he talked about the Darkness album. Obviously, they are filming and recording something BIG. And they had to have a clear game plan going in because it sounds like they had to be out of there by 5:30. So, it looks like to me that 3 possible things could have done down in AP yesterday:

1> A Darkness album - the way Bruce now wished he had done it but who did Danny's parts? Unless Roy does them later, they couldn't do it all yesterday in single takes. But it still could be done. Don't know what the difference this would be compared to the original but if they actually did this, Bruce must have thought it was important in some way. If they filmed this, I'm not sure how this will actually turn out, especially if someone wasn't there to do the organ parts, while Roy was on piano. Surely, Bruce would have Charlie there. This would be the real "re-mastered" version. The Cowboy Junkies did a similar thing in 2006 for their 1st album's 20th year anniversary, The Trinity Sessions, where they actually went back to the same church they originally recorded the album in, with only 1 microphone, and re-did it and released it on DVD & CD as Trinity Revisited. And it was really good.

2> Storytellers - In that they talked about the songs, crafting them, etc. and then, played them, but I still got to believe that Bruce would have had Charlie there so they could do whatever they were gonna do all at one time but who knows.

3> Darkness Demos & Outtakes - Perhaps, just perhaps, Bruce wanted to get clean versions of some of the Darkness era songs that didn't make the album and make it kind of a mini Tracks II release. If so, they might do that later for River demos & Outtakes. Sure, it's a pipe dream, but just over a month ago, so was getting The Wild & The Innocent, The River and Greetings albums at a concert too, in particular The Angel and The Price You Pay. Since Bruce thinks the band is playing better than ever, maybe he just wants to re-do them now instead of releasing the original ones. Remember, he did re-do parts of other songs on Tracks where he thought they weren't "right."

So, maybe they actually did some or all of the above yesterday, only time will tell - just please, please me & release a whole Darkness concert on a DVD!
