Das Thema von Mister Y "Vorbilder" und folgender Spruch vom Boss haben mich neugierig gemacht:
"Ich wurde von vielen Leuten beeinflusst. Elvis war einer der ersten. Otis Redding, Sam Cooke, Wilson Pickett, die Beatles, Fats Domino, Benny Goodman, viele Jazzmusiker. Man kann sie alle heraushören, wenn man darauf achtet." (1980) (Aus "Springsteen in eigenen Worten")

Ist hier jemand auch musiktheoretisch so versiert, dass er einzelne Passagen in bestimmten Songs benennen könnte, bei denen man ganz klar ein Vorbild heraushört?

Oder hat der Boss das so konkret gar nicht gemeint? Es hört sich allerdings so an...

z.B. der Song " Fire " wurde als Hommage für Elvis Presley geschrieben.

Hank Williams hat auch einen Song namens "Mansion On The Hill" aufgenommen, der nicht nur den gleichen Titel hat, sondern auch eine ähnliche Story beinhaltet. Die Musik ist aber vollkommen verschieden.

"Land Of Hope And Dreams" erinnert im Refrain textlich sehr an Guthries "Bound For Glory" ... ist wohl daran angelehnt, außer dass Springsteens Zug alle mitnimmt "Bound For Glory" kann auch ein Traditional sein, das weiß man bei Folksongs nie so genau ...
