Nach vier Jahren bringen Los Lobos mit "Tin Can Trust" endlich ihr neues Meisterwerk heraus. Alle Songs wurden komplett und live genau mit dem Line-Up, das seit 1984 Bestand hat, in East L.A. aufgenommen. Der Sound ist daher sehr kohäsiv und gibt genau den typischen, lebhaft-dynamischen Sound von Los Lobos wieder. Die meisten Tracks wurden von Louie Perez und David Hidalgo geschrieben, aber auch die anderen Mitglieder wie Cesar Rosas haben große Songs ("Yo Canto" und "Mujer Ingrata") abgeliefert. Das tolle Stück "All My Bridges Burning" wurde von Grateful Deads Songwriter Robert Hunt mit komponiert. Ein weiteres Highlight ist eine exzellente Coverversion des Grateful Dead-Klassikers "West L.A. Fadeaway", den Los Lobos lieben und auch oft live spielen.

Ein grandioses Album der "Wölfe" aus LA. David Hidalgo, Louie Pérez, Conrad Lozano, César Rosas und Steve Berlin lassen es richtig krachen und haben auch eine 7-minütige Coververison des Grateful Dead-Klassikers "West L.A. fadeaway" aufgenommen.
