The 2010 American Idol runner-up s set includes her original song, Holy Toledo, a song she performed on the show as well as the arresting title track which chronicles her personal experience of dealing with child abuse. Fans and Idol viewers know Crystal is a talented singer, but Farmer s Daughter further establishes her as a truly gifted songwriter. Farmer's Daughter was produced by David Bendeth (Paramore, Breaking Benjamin, Papa Roach).

After finishing up the 2010 American Idol Live Tour, Bowersox headed to New Jersey to begin production on her eagerly awaited debut. The twelve tracks, ten of them written or co-written by Bowersox, showcase her strong songwriting skills and her desire to infuse her lyrics with that raw emotion of someone who has lived. The album also contains eight songs written solely by Crystal, two co-writes, an additional track by Kara DioGuardi and Nickelback s Chad Kroeger titled Hold On and a cover of Buffalo Springfield s 1967 classic For What It s Worth. One very special song is Mason, a song Bowersox co-wrote with her husband Brian Walker, which they performed together at their recent nuptials.

After placing second on Idol, Crystal was signed a deal with Jive Records and RCA's sister record company 19 Entertainment. Originally, Crystal wanted to delay the release of the album until early 2011, but ended up moving the release date to December 14.[1] She is also to cover the Buffalo Springfield song "For What It's Worth," stating "its lyrics are relevant no matter what era it is, whatever war we're in and issues in the world," she said. "The song is always relevant." It was revealed that Chad Szeliga who is well known for his drumming for bands such as Breaking Benjamin and OurAfter has contributed drum tracks to the album.

Crystal Bowersox On Farmer's Daughter: An Intimate Debut Choice
Runner up from "American Idol" Crystal Bowersox is getting ready to release her debut album "Farmer's Daughter" later this month, and she has been busy working on the final details and filming her first music video for the debut single which is the title track of the album. The song is a personal one for her. One that she wrote during her time on "Idol" to work through issues with her mother and her childhood.

Crystal Bowersox revealed that her mother was not too pleased about the song or the fact that her daughter picked it for her first single. She is looking forward to releasing her album it looks like, and it sounds like it'll be different than many other albums currently out in release. It isn't your typical pop album seen by an "American Idol" artist. However, some might say that Crystal Bowersox was never considered to be typical for the reality competition.

Bowersox described "Farmer's Daughter" by saying the following: "It's between country and rock and roll. Some of the songs are really country, but, like, old-school country. Not new pop-country. Then some of the songs are throwback to retro funk and soul. There's a lot of different flavors there. You can definitely hear all of my influences and the music that's been important to me in my life."

Her album sounds different and new. Exciting almost. It isn't like much out there right now. Bowersox definitely hjas her own style, and she isn't trying to change herself to fit the mold of an "American Idol" performer. She is staying true to herself, and that is amazing to see. Fans that they would have to wait until the spring for her album, but "Farmer's Daughter" will hit store shelves on December 14th. Will you be heading out to buy the album when it hits? Meine Meinung:
Nebenden 11 eigenen Songs, gibts ausserdem eine grandiose Version von Buffalo Springfields "For What Its Worth".
Absolut hörenswert !!!
